Where Our Need is Greatest
Your local American Red Cross, Southern Tier Chapter is committed to meeting the humanitarian needs of the people in the Southern Tier, be it in disaster preparedness, disaster response, first aid and CPR training, or disease prevention. You can help support local chapter programs and services by making a gift to the Southern Tier Chapter.
Donations given directly to the Southern Tier Chapter: enable the Chapter to provide help and hope to local families who lose their homes and belongings to house or apartment fires, floods or other disasters. The costs for responding to disasters include direct relief and the operational support to make sure they can occur - stocked trailers, trained volunteers, equipment and vehicle operation, and staff costs too.
All disaster volunteers are trained and deployed on a local level. It takes money and resources to train and prepare our volunteers to respond to disasters locally and nationally. Please remember that strong chapters keep the Red Cross, as an organization, strong and an organization that is able to meet the immediate emergency caused needs of people throughout our great country, time and time again.
Disaster Relief Fund
You can help people affected by disasters like hurricanes, floods, and fires by donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. On those rare occasions when donations exceed Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters. Your gift enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of all disasters. International Response Fund
You can help the victims of countless crises, like the recent earthquake in Haiti, around the world each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which will provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster, please do so at the time of your donation by making a note in the Memo section of the online donation form.
