Provides youth (ages 11 - 15) who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid.
New for 2008! Babysitter's CPR (Child & Infant) and First Aid
- Pre-requisite: American Red Cross Babysitter's Training certification.
- Required Materials: Babysitter's Training Handbook, item # 655633. This handbook is provided for all students attending our Babysitter's Training courses after July 11th. Students who attended a babysitter's class on or before July 10th should add $10 to the Babysitter's CPR and First Aid course fee to include this new handbook.
- Certificates Issued: Participants who successfully complete this course, including the written examinations, will receive CPR - Child and Infant and Standard First Aid certifications (Lay Responder Level).
Babysitter's CPR (Child & Infant) and First Aid
To train babysitters to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in children and infants. First Aid lessons include the knowledge and skills necessary to give care in an emergency, help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. Pre-requisite: American Red Cross Babysitter's Training certification. Participants who successfully complete this course, including the written examinations, will receive CPR - Child and Infant and Standard First Aid certifications (Lay Responder Level).
