Courses for Childcare Providers
Free Childcare Health & Safety Courses are offered to all New York State Office of Children and Family Services licensed childcare providers.
Funding for the free courses is made possible through a grant from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and is made available to all New York State American Red Cross chapters.
Courses offered include the following:
- Adult, Infant & Child CPR (8 hours)
- Childcare First Aid (4 hours)
Prerequisites: Must be a New York State OFCS licensed Childcare Provider. Advanced registration is required.
*Restrictions: Each individual is only eligible to take just 2 training sessions within one calendar year. Spaces are limited. Early registration is encouraged. Daycare centers may only register 2 individuals per prescheduled training session.
Childcare First Aid
Learn the knowledge and skills needed to keep children in your care safe and healthy, including a wide variety of first aid skills. State and local regulations and requirements for childcare providers vary widely. Be familiar with your state and local requirements to ensure compliance.

CPR - Adult, Child & Infant
To give childcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until advanced medical personnel take over.
