Instructor Training
Our train-the-trainer program allows you to become a Red Cross instructor and train others to save lives.
We recommend:
- That you register over the phone - contact the American Red Cross, Southern Tier Chapter at (607) 785-7207.
- That instructor candidates acquire basic level course certificates for lay responder CPR/AED and First Aid. This is not required, but will help the candidates prepare for the pre-course session skills evaluation and written examination (first day of class).
Instructor candidates must:
- Be at least 17 years of age by the last scheduled session of the instructor course.
- Register and pay in advance. Registration and payment deadline is 5 business days prior to the first scheduled class session.
- Pass each section of the pre-course exam with a score of at least 80 percent as well as demonstrate competency in the skills evaluation.
- Attend all scheduled class session in full (missed sessions cannot be made up and will result in withdrawal from the course).
- Cancel at least three business days prior to the first class session to receive a full refund or to be rescheduled into a future instructor training course.
Please note: The course fee includes all required texts for this class.
